At the 2000 Monterey Sports Car Championships at Laguna Seca, two Chevrolet Corvette C5-R race cars, took to the grid after sweeping qualifying in the GTS class. Coming off their first year in 1999, Chevrolet and Pratt Miller were back, looking for their third win of the season. A strong second- and fourth-place finish helped the team finish third in the American Le Mans Series GTS Teams championship despite a limited race schedule.
The 2000 C5-R race cars ran multiple liveries during the season, and perhaps the best remembered is the early-season look the team used at the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring and Le Mans: the traditional Corvette yellow but with distinctive white sides.

Fast forward 25 years from 2000, and the Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports team will compete this weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the 26th consecutive season and wear the 2000 white-sided livery as a throwback tribute.
When WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and IMSA announced the 2026 race would be a throwback weekend, the team started on concepts that same day. “Reviewing liveries over the years, it was about finding a striking scheme and one that works well on the Z06 GT3.R body contours and styling lines,” said Matt Stasiak, Pratt Miller Motorsports Operations Manager, who has created the liveries since 2024. “The C5-R 2000 early-season livery was a perfect fit, while body styling of Corvette’s has evolved over the years, the livery remains timeless” In collaboration with GM Motorsports and the GM Design, the team worked to make the livery as close to the original as possible, a throwback sure to bring back memories.
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca has been one of Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports’ most successful tracks with eight victories. In 2004, the Laguna Seca round was the finale of the season and was also the final race for the C5-R era. The Corvette team took first and second in GTS with Ron Fellows and Johnny O’Connell taking the top step of the podium.
The last two years, the Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports team has finished third in GTD PRO with the Corvette Z06 GT3.R and aims for a higher result this weekend.
